At the WTA-tournament in Luxembourg Alison (WTA-47) had to face qualifier Richel Hogenkamp (WTA-131) in the first round. Ali faced the Dutch for the first time, but had little trouble with her opponent.
In the third game of the first set, the Belgian broke immediately Hogenkamp’s serve. While leading 3-1 she took the second break point. At 5-2 Alison got the chance to serve out the set and in less than half an hour she ended the first set. In the second set things went a little less smoothly for Ali. Both players once handed in their own service game and a tiebreak had to decide who would win the set. The Belgian won it 7-4.
In the second round Alison faces Serbian Ana Ivanovic (WTA-12) for the first time in her career.
