With the end of the year approaching, Alison gets to add another final to her track record. She and Greet Minnen played their way into the doubles final at Luxembourg after Kirsten Flipkens retired.
Alison and Greet had to play second seeds Flipkens and Larsson in the semi-final, two players who have lots of experience in playing doubles. Yet Alison and Greet matched their opponent’s effort. There was very little between both doubles teams. In the breaker, Ali and Greet saved one set point and then pounced on their first chance to win the set.
They kept playing really well and forced a break in the third game of the second set. In the next game, Ali and her partner saved two break points and won the deciding point to make it 3-1. When Flipkens was hit by a ball, she had to retire.
