Alison (WTA-61) keeps playing extremely well at Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and is into the last four. She beat Pauline Parmentier (WTA-127) in the quarter-finals 6-2 6-4.
Alison immediately took control of this match. In the first four games, she was simply much too strong for her opponent. Parmentier did make it 4-2, only for Alison to then put more distance again between herself and the French player.
It was an impressive first set and with her returns Alison continued to cause trouble on her opponent’s serve. Parmentier did manage to keep her at bay, until Alison went on to win the important points in the last couple of games. Ali was trailing 3-4 and then made it 6-4 by winning the last three games. Czech player Kristyna Pliskova (WTA-80) is the opponent in the semis.
