Alison drops out of top 100 after loss in Limoges

Alison (WTA-80) faced Tereza Smitková (WTA-83) today in the second round of the WTA-tournament of Limoges ($125 000). Ali started off well, and broke her opponent three times in the first set, while she only got broken once : 6-3

However the Belgian failed to keep the momentum. In both the second and the third set she lost her serve twice, and she eventually lost the match 6-3 2-6 2-6.

This week Alison had to defend the points of her tournament win in Taipei ($125 000) last year. Due to her loss in the second round, she will drop out of the top 100 of the world. She will now be ranked around place 107, which makes a direct entry into the main draw of the Australian Open unsure.
