Another great performance from Alison at Budapest, where she beat fifth seeded Mihaela Buzarnescu (WTA-39) 6-1 6-0 in 1h09mins. Alison is now into the quarter-finals.
Buzarnescu won the opening game and that was the only game she would be able to win. After saving two break points on her first service game, Alison raced through the first set. Alison had a massive 80 percent of points on her first serve and also did better than her opponent on the second serve.
Alison won two hard fought games to take a 2-0 lead in the second set. Alison kept pushing forward, hitting a great passing shot and drop shot in the next game and then forcing the double break. With a nice forehand cross court winner, Alison forced a first match point. Ali’s deep backhand forced a forehand error from Buzarnescu and Alison’s streak was extended to twelve straight games.
