At the WTA tournament in Luxembourg, Alison was victorious alongside Greet Minnen in her doubles match versus Jakupovic and Voracova. For Alison, a perfect way to prepare for her singles match against Petkovic.
Jakupovic, a Slovenian player, and Czech player Voracova could not keep Alison and Greet from qualifying for the quarter-finals. The Belgian duo enjoyed the best start and led by 3 games to 1. At 4-3, their opponents were able to strike back. A bit later, Alison and Greet again were only one game away from winning the first set. But another rebreak interfered with their plans. Ali and Greet saved five set points in the breaker but conceded the set on set point number six.
The scenario in the second was pretty similar. Alison and Greet watched a 3-1-lead turn into score of 4 games all. At 5-6, both doubles teams had to play a deciding point. So actually it was match point for Jakupovic and Voracova. Fortunately Alison and Greet were able to win that point and the following tie-break.
The momentum was even more on the side of Alison and her partner in the match tie-break. They won six points in a row to create a deciding gap. Alison and Greet won the match 6-7 (7/9) 7-6 (7/2) [10-5]. This win gives Alison even more confidence for her singles match. Around 2 pm she will play Andrea Petkovic from Germany.
