Alison (WTA-61) is still doing extremely well at the WTA tournament in Tashkent. She has reached the final without even dropping a set.
Friday, she faced Kristyna Pliskova (WTA-80) from the Czech republic in the semi-finals. Just like in her previous rounds, Ali didn’t give her opponent a lot of opportunities to get into the match. Alison enjoyed full control early on and won the first set by 6 games to 3.
In the second set, Alison managed to creat a gap again. Only for Pliskova to come back this time around. So it was even at 5 all. From that point on, Alison made the difference and won 6-3 7-5 after 1h25mins.
In the final, she will play Sorana Cirstea (WTA-96) from Romania, a player against whom she has lost two times. Their last meeting has been played in 2017. It will be the third final of the year for Alison, after she won the tournament of Budapest in February and she lost the final at Karlsruhe in July.
