Alison (WTA 91) seems to feel at ease in Asia. Last year she conquered the title at the 125K WTA tournament of Taipei. Today she won her quarterfinal at the WTA tournament of Hong Kong against qualifier Jarmila Gajdosova (WTA-99).
The Australian went off to a great start, she was serving for a 2-4 lead in the first set when the match was halted due to the rain. The rain break turned the match in favour of Alison, she broke twice to gain the first set 6-4.
In the second set Alison got broken once, but she successfully converted three breakpoints. Ali took the second set 6-2 and booked a place in the semis.
In the semifinal Alison will be playing against third seeded Karolina Pliskova (WTA 36). Both players already faced each other earlier this year at the clay court tournament in Nürnberg, at that time the Czech won in two sets.
