Alison (WTA-47) still has to wait for a first win at the Australian Open in women’s singles. This year, she lost to Fiona Ferro (WTA-63) in the first round.
After struggling with her health in the weeks leading up to this tournament, Alison also couldn’t find her rythm during her match in Melbourne. It was 1-1 after two games but Alison dropped her serve twice as the first set went on. This meant Ferro won the set by 6 games to 2.
After Alison won the first game of the second set, the French player managed to win six games in a row. After 1h14mins it was over and Alison lost 2-6 1-6. Alison will still feature in women’s doubles together with Greet Minnen.
