Alison hasn’t been able to qualify for the second round at Istanbul. Australian player Ajla Tomljanovic (WTA-95) proved to be too strong as Alison lost 3-6 3-6.
There were positive signs in the early stages as Alison took a 3-1-lead. But Tomljanovic won much more points on her first service and completely turned it around. Ali’s backhand into the net meant she trailed 3-5 and Tomljanovic got the job done on her own serve.
The Australian’s first serve had less effect in the second set but she did better on the second serve. This gave her the opportunity to create an even bigger gap. At one point, Alison was down 1 game to 5. There was a bit of a fightback at the end but Alison eventually came up short.
