Alison (WTA-113) has reached the second round at Roland Garros. She defeated Japanese Naomi Osaka (WTA-55) in two sets.
After three victories in the qualifying tournament, Alison had to face the young Japanese talent Osaka. Ali started the match well and immediately took the lead, the Japanese kept up the pressure, but the set went 6-3 to the Belgian.
In the second set, both players had their chances. Ali managed to get the decisive gap at the end of the set and could serve for the match at 6-5. She got the victory on her third matchpoint and finished the match 6-3 and 7-5.
In the second round she will face Agnieszka Radwanska (WTA-10) or home player Fiona Ferro (WTA-208).
