Alison storms into Quebec final

Alison (WTA-98) remains outstanding at the WTA tournament in Quebec (Canada, $ 250 000). She reached the final after a nice victory in two sets.

Seventh seed Alison had to face German Tatjana Maria (WTA-58) in the semifinal. They each won one of their previous encounters, but in Canada the Belgian was much too strong for the fourth seed. Ali won the first set with 6-1 and she continued to put pressure on her opponent. In the second set she had to face one breakpoint, but she managed to break her opponent’s serve twice and won the set 6-2 set. The match lasted 1 hour and 7 minutes.

In the final she will face third seed Timea Babos (WTA-63). It could be the first title of the year for Alison, who won the tournament of Taipei (125K) in 2013.
