Alison enters the new year by getting to play competition again. She’ll play her first match of the new season on New Year’s Day against Bibiane Schoofs (WTA-178).
De Dutch player is of course the first player Alison will face in 2019. Alison lost their only previous meeting at Luxembourg six years ago. So not immediately something that has any relevance today. Whoever comes out a winner this time around, will qualify for the second round at Auckland.
Ali’s match is the second match on Court 2. Ali will start playing after the match between Vickery and Flipkens is finished. That match will start at 2pm local time.
