Alison (WTA-44) was seeded eight at the WTA-tournament in Hobart. In the second round she had a difficult opponent in Eugenie Bouchard (WTA-47). Both players have the same age but faced each other for the first time.
In the first set both players immediately lost their service game. They were leveled until 3-3 but then Bouchard broke Alison’s serve. The Canadian went on to win the set 4-6.
Alison fought back and got a 0-3 lead in the second set. Bouchard however fought back and showed why she was number five in the world in 2014. The Belgian lost the set 5-7 to her opponent.
Next week Alison will play her first Grand Slam tournament of the year at the Australian Open.
