Alison (WTA-79) was not able to reproduce her great form of last week in Hong Kong in the WTA International tournament of Guangzhou ($500 000). She lost in three sets to Su-Wei Hsieh (WTA-171), who received a wildcard for the tournament. The Chinese Taipese was no stranger to Ali, the Belgian won their two previous meetings.
Today’s match proved more difficult for Ali. In the first set both players lost serve three times, which resulted in a tiebreak. Hsiesh won the tiebreak easily 2-7. In the second set Alison fought back, and converted to breakpoints : 6-2. In the third set both players were struggling again with their own serve. When Alison was serving at 4-5 to stay in the match, she got broken : 4-6.
Next week the Belgian wil play her last tournament in Asia, she will compete at the WTA-tournament of Wuhan.
