After losing in the first round of the singles and doubles at Roland Garros (France, Grand Slam), Alison (WTA-67) headed for Great Britain to start her grass season.
First stop, the Viking Open Nottigham, where Alison was exempt from the first round. Seeded eight, she met Russian Marina Melnikova (WTA-186) in the second round. A meeting during which Ali was more than effective since she won a double 6-1 in 1 hour of play.
A reassuring victory which allows her to play the third round of the tournament. To reach the quarter-finals of Nottingham, she will have to get rid of the Swiss Viktorija Golubic, ranked 72nd in the world.
