It’s been a while since I wrote something here myself, but I’m doing fine though.
Rehabilitation is going smooth and soon I can start to pick up my racket again. Currently I try to stay physically and especially conditionally fit. I do specific exercises every day to get my right arm acquainted to a hard tennis stroke. I combine this with exercises for my right foot, for which I got surgery last year. With this I hope to be ready for the qualifications of Indian Wells early March.
The fact that I can’t participate at the Australian Open gives me an unpleasant feeling. All airline tickets and hotels were booked, but I had to cancel everything. Oh, I could continue to whine, but that does not help me forward. Of course I follow the performance of the Belgians and the highlights of most matches.
It will be a struggle to return to play at the highest level, but as an athlete you know that injuries are part of the whole picture. It is a pity that it will heavily impact my ranking because now it will be more difficult to get in at certain tournaments. I will have to play a lot of qualifications.
Now, well, it will already be a relief to be back on the court. That’s my first goal!
