Alison (WTA D-1011) and An-Sophie (WTA D-398) had to face the experienced first seeds Anabel Medina Garrigues (WTA D-27) and Arantxa Parra Santonja (WTA D-36) in the doubles final at the BNP Paribas Fortis Diamond Games.
The Belgian girls did not start their match well, in no time they were trailing 1-4. They managed to get better into the match and broke back once, but the Spanish team took the first set 4-6.
Ali and Anso got off to a better start in the second set, they built up a 4-1 lead, and converted their first setpoint at 5-3. In the deciding match tiebreak the Belgian team was broken earlier. They still fought for every point, but the Spanish team won the match tiebreak with 5-10.
Despite not winning the doubles title in Antwerp Ali can look back on a great tournament in Antwerp, where she had eight matchpoints against Andrea Petkovic, who took the title.
