Alison (WTA-46) was not able to create an upset on the Wimbledon Center Court (Great Britain, Grand Slam). She lost to the tenth seed.
Ali had to face British Emma Raducanu (WTA-11) in the first round. Both players were evenly matched, but Raducanu managed to force the first break. The Belgian broke back, but the British took the first set 4-6.
Alison took the best start in the second set, going up 3-1, but couldn’t hold onto the lead. Raducanu turned the tide and also took the second set 4-6. The match lasted 1 hour and 41 minutes.
Alison (WTA D-71) still plays doubles together with the Dutch Rosalie Van der Hoek (WTA D-141). In the first round they will face Belgians Maryna Zanevska (WTA D-162) and Kimberley Zimmermann (WTA D-52).
