Quick exit for Alison in Sacramento

After winning both singles and doubles titles in Stockton, USA (ITF; $ 50 000) last week, Alison was not able to continue on that positive trend this week. Elsewhere in the USA, in Sacramento (ITF; $ 50 000), she lost in the first round of both singles and doubles.

In singles, Alison (WTA-116), appointed as the number one seed, had to face the French Caroline Romeo (WTA-434). Although she lost in the last round of qualifications, she was given a lucky loser spot on the main draw. Alison started fairly good in the game and took the first set 6-3. However, after dropping the second one 4-6, it was Romeo who suddenly found herself in the drivers’ seat. With another 3-6 she finally took Alison to the exit.

For Alison (WTA D-223), the tournament is also over in doubles. Together with compatriot Greet Minnen (WTA D-469), Alison wasn’t able to stun the American second seeds: 4-6 and 1-6.
