Alison and Greet Minnen keep doing very well in doubles at Luxembourg. In the quarter-finals, they beat Polish player Kania and Russian player Sizikova 7-6 (7/3) 6-1. Flipkens and Larsson await in the semis.
Both teams were tested on their own serve in the six first games but the breaks still had to come. Alison and Greet made it count in the seventh game. However, they lost a 5-3-lead as Kania and Sizikova tied the set at 5. Even getting a second break wasn’t enough just yet to finish the first set. Alison and Greet did get it done in the tie-break.
They delivered a massive blow to their opponents and they never recovered. Alongside her partner, Alison went on to win the next five games and decide the match. In the semis, both of them will face a stern challenge as they meet Kirsten Flipkens and Johanna Larsson, the second seeds. That match will be played on Friday at 1pm.
